You've booked your corporate yoga class!

Here is my little guide on how to get the most out of these practices!

*Desk/Chair yoga does not require a mat.

Before Class

01.

Arrive a few minutes early

Give yourself time to settle, change clothes if needed, and mentally transition from “work mode” to “yoga mode.”

02.

WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING

Stretchable, breathable attire is ideal — but in a workplace, make sure it’s still appropriate for your company culture.

03.

Bring your own mat (if possible)

It’s more hygienic, and you’ll likely feel more comfortable using your own. If mats are provided, wipe them down before and after class.

04.

Eat Light Beforehand

Avoid heavy meals right before class to prevent discomfort during twists and forward bends.

During Class

01.

Honor your limits

Corporate yoga is typically inclusive — it’s not a competition. Modify poses if needed, and don’t push into pain.

02.

stay Workplace minded

The atmosphere may be more casual, but remember you’re still among colleagues. Maintain professionalism and personal space.

03.

FOCUS ON BREATHING

Use this as an opportunity to de-stress from the workday. The breath is the bridge between relaxation and focus.

04.

COMMUNICATE WITH INSTRUCTOR

If you feel comfortable, let them know about any injuries or restrictions beforehand. I usually always offer modifications, but again listen to your body and if something is causing pain, find a comfortable stopping point or familiar pose such as down dog, child's pose, or seated.

After Class

01.

Hydrate + take a moment

Don’t rush straight back to your desk — take a minute to enjoy the calm, maybe with a glass of water or a short walk.

02.

NOTICE THE EFFECTS!

Pay attention to how you feel — often yoga improves focus, posture, and mood during the rest of the day.

03.

BE CONSISTENT

Regular participation brings the biggest benefits: reduced stress, better energy, and team connection.

04.

RESPECT SHARED SPACES

If you use a meeting room or shared area, tidy up and leave it as you found it.

For the employer:

-Chair/Desk yoga is just that! It can be done right at their desks/chairs! No additional space or equipment needed!

-For all other classes/workshops we will need a dedicated space for class -example can be a meeting room, I don't recommend having it in a warehouse due to colder temps in the winter unless it's heated as injuries are more prone in cooler temperatures.
