What vibe are you going for?

Setting: Nature, Downtown/Urban, Studio

Feel: Natural, Glamorous, Casual

Theme: Do you want to do something you've never seen done before? Or prefer to do a more traditional session?

Inspo: This could just be a certain season you love, a movie inspired shoot (ex: the notebook), rainy day, etc..

What season is it?

Winter-if you have children and it's super cold, you might opt for an indoor location or studio!

Spring-if you need your photos back quickly, sometimes the rain can delay sessions, so this might be another option for an indoor session. If you're not on a huge time crunch, anywhere with blossoming trees and flowers are always beautiful! Also - rain shoots aren't all that bad either if you want something different!

Summer-Somewhere with lots of shade will help out with the heat, but also anywhere that has lots of blooming trees/flowers.

Fall - Anywhere with the beautiful colors of fall we all dream about, not all trees change so just keep that in mind if you're choosing your own location. But outdoor sessions, or an indoor studio with lots of fall/earthy colors are still an option!

What are you wearing?

If you already have your outfits chosen, i would go off of those and choose your vibe and a location that matches.

If you don't have your outfits chosen, I would choose the location first then coordinate the outfits with the location.

This part isn't a huge issue, so don't stress too much - plus you've got us and your session-guide to help out! But for example you wouldn't want to wear a blazer and dress pants for a family session at location #1 with a casual theme in mind. So all of these things tie together to give a beautiful look and photos :)
