Boudoir + Beauty Welcome Packet!
What Do I Wear?
all below are suggestions, you do not have to do all of them by any means, you can pick and choose, or even decide the day of!
Be COZY.
These options are limitless, but a few suggestions could be: a flannel or button up, cozy sweater, robes, t-shirts, yoga shorts or pants, leggings, and don’t forget the long socks to accessorize any of the above! These items can be from your significant other’s closet or your own! Get creative!
Be a BEAUTY.
For more of the "Beauty" style, think more along the lines of what you would wear on a special evening, little black dress, flowy dress, or if you're wanting more of the celebrity style, be as elaborate as you want! These are so much fun, and also ones you can definitely share on social media!
Be BOLD.
Towards the end of your session, we will bust out the smoldering options if that's what you're comfortable with! The racier bodysuits, bra + undie sets, bralettes, thongs, booty shorts, swimwear, rompers, etc…if you should be so bold ;) be sure these items fit properly and if you’re unsure of a size, it’s better to go bigger rather than smaller. We can always pull them tighter, but it’s more difficult to make them appear looser and more flattering.
Be NUDE.
Or just implied nude…I keep these tasteful, if you have another vision just let me know beforehand to make sure it’s something we can make work! Most of the time it’s topless, or booty. An example of implied nude would be covering up with a blanket with your straps down giving the illusion you are nude. This is totally optional, and completely 100% up to you! You can even decide the day of, if it’s something you’re comfortable with and want to give a whirl, we’ll save this one for the very last option! If not, it’s your shoot! We do only what you’re comfortable with, but again, they are kept tasteful.
Outdoor Shoots
For outdoor sessions you are totally welcome to still wear any of the above!
Some additional suggestions would be cutoff shorts and a bralette or white tee/tank, cowgirl boots, even bathing suits! if you have any outdoor hobbies like hunting, fishing, have a car/truck/motorcycle/4 wheeler/dirt bike etc... you want to include, etc...you're free to bring them just let me know ahead of time so I can plan the best spot!
We can also get the hose out and get some wet shots!
Again, to reiterate, ONLY do what you’re comfortable with! If you want to bring a racier item and if decide the day of if you’d like to do it, that’s no problem! If you are nowhere near wanting nude or even the racier option and want to keep it more conservative/beauty based, that’s no problem either! Check out my Pinterest board for more inspiration! More Tips:
(please read)
- Please come to your session with your hair and makeup done so it doesn't cut into your shoot time :)
- Wear loose fitting clothing to the shoot to prevent marks from things like tight bras and jeans forming during the drive here.
- Spray tans are not recommended unless you regularly get them and are happy with the way they look on camera
- During warmer months tan lines can become a bit of an issue lol these are an extensive edit that I outsource for, so if you're planning a vacation or if your shoot is in the middle of summer be sure to wear that sunscreen and prevent any unwanted tan lines 1-2 weeks prior to your session (unless you want tan lines 🙃)
- Please feel free to text me photos of your possible outfit choices - I have been doing this a LONG time and I can help narrow down to what I know is most flattering and photographs the best! (740)918-9089.
- BE YOURSELF! If we say something funny, you can definitely laugh - we love those candid smiles! Feel free to design your shoot more based on your personality, I have done a lot of different types of shoots and the ones that client's get most excited about are the ones that really represent who they are/what they wear! I'm happy to help with this too!
What else should I bring?
For boudoir: other props and ideas could be for a themed shoot (like bridal boudoir) or just something that makes your relationship unique! These could include bridal, Halloween, or costume type options, or other props/items you can bring are heels, jewelry, guns (unloaded, and safety on, please!), light sabers, fishing gear, hunting gear, video game controllers, head pieces (floral or otherwise), an item of yours or significant other’s workwear, military items, weight lifting items, books, etc…I’ve seen it all!
For beauty: you can also bring themed items such as boho inspire, feathers, floral crowns, boas, tulle skirts, hats, the list goes on!
Just don’t hesitate to ask ahead of time, and please get my permission or let me know if you’re wanting to bring a gun. Remember, this is about YOU, it can be a gift for your significant other as well, so be sure to think about what makes you unique, and take a peep in your closet or around the house at things you most treasure!
Where should I shop?
and don’t forget amazon or target!
How do I pose?
You hired a professional photographer for a reason, and unless you plan on taking that task on and attempting self portraits, posing is not your worry! I’ve been a photographer for 10+ years and I know the most flattering poses/lighting for every body type. I will be reminding you throughout the shoot and say things like: “point your toes”, “chin up”, “gently place your hand here”, etc. And if need be and with your permission, I will be fixing your hair, and outfits along the way as well! So just simply show up! We’ll take care of the rest!
How will my photos be edited?
I do minimal editing to photos because I fully believe to truly embrace ourselves means to embrace it all! That being said, as I mentioned above, I do pose in the most flattering ways with the most flattering lighting, so we will definitely speak before hand (the question is also in your questionnaire), on what you love most about yourself and what you may want to de-emphasize. As for editing, I do light skin softening, removal of anything temporary, typically acne, bruises, etc…, and I typically don’t edit out anything permanent like freckles, moles, stretch marks etc. Again, this is your shoot, so if you have a special request please let me know before the day of your shoot so I can plan to accommodate you as best as I can!
Can I bring someone with me?
I typically recommend against this, especially if it’s for a one-hour shoot, I want the session you’re investing in to be the best experience it can be, and sometimes, if a significant other tags along, it can cause some added stress or nerves. I have had several women bring along a friend, and it’s fun! Just please let me know if someone is planning to come and inform them that photos during the shoot are not permitted, and negative comments are not welcome and could be grounds for me asking them to leave. I want this to be an amazing experience for YOU. You know your relationships and friendships better than me, so if you know bringing someone along won’t be a distraction from your “why” for this shoot, feel free! If you have any other questions on this matter, just ask!
What can I expect before my shoot?
Before your shoot, you will receive a questionnaire, contract, model release, as well as this welcome packet. I will be on standby all the way up to the day of your session to answer any questions or offer any needed advice for your specific needs! All that is required from you is your retainer deposit to hold your date in my calendar! If you have questions after everything is sent, please feel free to reach out at any time so I can make this as seamless of an experience as possible for you!
What can I expect the day of my shoot?
The day of your shoot, you will arrive at the studio, refreshments available (I got you, girl!). I will be sure everything is perfect through the eye of my camera and take an after photo as well. Upon your arrival, we will do one of my favorite parts! Go through what all you brought and talk about what your favorites are and what ones you might be able to live without depending on if you brought a suitcase or not, of course! After this, I will leave the room, there is a changing room for your privacy, and let me know when you’re all set! We will talk, have fun, and treat you like the rock star you are! I will show you several images on the back of my camera to ensure we’re on the same page and make adjustments as necessary. If this is a maternity boudoir session, be sure to bring Spanx if you have a dress, those dresses are beautiful but they are notorious for showing underwear lines and dimples.
What can I expect after my shoot?
After you leave the studio, I get to work! Typically you will receive your gallery within 2-3 weeks, sometimes it can be sooner, others can be closer to the 3 week mark depending on my workload at the time of your session. I do not rush through editing, so it's worth the wait, promise! Then you will receive your watermarked online gallery. Once you download your photos the watermark will come off-I just put it on there to save you from accidentally printing screenshots - the quality is terribleeeeeee! I don't want you wasting any of your hard earned moo-lah! I do still offer products, you're welcome to look at during your session, and you can purchase them right from your gallery or message me if you have questions!
Do you take payments?
Yes! I accept a payment plan through Affirm, Shop Pay, and Afterpay! You can reach out if you have more questions about any of these
You have two options for when you book your session, you can pay in full at the time of booking, or you can pay a $200 retainer the day of booking, then the remaining balance by the day before your session. Retainer or payment in full must be paid to be added to my calendar. The remainder must be paid by the day before the session.
In addition to these helpful resources, we also advise you to make a Pinterest board with outfit ideas that you love! From there we can always guide you towards the best websites, which outfits are flattering etc. If you have lots of ideas and outfits and you’re having trouble narrowing them down then we always recommend you bring a suitcase full of stuff!!...what?! Yes, I’m not joking, we recommend you bring lots of things when you arrive and we can help you narrow them down once you arrive for your shoot.
